Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) - Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Sector-specific AI for a competitive Europe
The use of AI will lead to a paradigm shift in almost every sector of industry.
The IPCEI-AI is part of the European Commission's AI Continent Action Plan, which aims to make the EU a global technology leader in the field of AI.
Europe has the potential to become a global leader if it can not only develop next-generation industrial and highly specialised AI models, but also deploy them productively and successfully.
The Value-Chain Description document details the elements of the value chain that will be supported under the IPCEI-AI framework. These elements are briefly listed below:
The Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy has launched a Call for Expression of Interest to for Luxembourgish companies to join the IPCEI-AI.
The cybersecurity ecosystem in Luxembourg controls huge amounts of data that can be used to train cybersecurity-specialised AI models. This will be enabled through the Luxembourg Cybersecurity Data Space, currently being developed and very soon released.
Collaboration in this respect and training models with this data could be one of the topics of the Luxembourg contribution to the IPCEI-AI.
The detailed Call for Expression of Interest can be found here, including the eligibility criteria.
